During the last years, the number of working solar plants has significantly grown in Spain and generally in the whole Europe. As response to a higher demand, ESA has created the new department of technical auditing services for photovoltaic installations.

AUDITING

The aim of ESA Photovoltaic Auditing is to determinate and analyze the output of working photovoltaic installations. With such a study they expect to identify the faults of the installations and to search possible solutions to the different problems.

In order to achieve its aims, ESA has specialised staff and equipment with the newest technology such as thermographic cameras to detect hot spots in the modules and I-V Curves tracers characterize and model the behaviour of the panels.

In order to guarantee that the measurement and analysis methods fulfil the quality levels and that the equipment used is properly calibrated, ESA has the AENOR NºER-111/2010 certification of the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2008, and offers the security to its clients that the analysis and reports are valid and follow criteria and procedures verified by and authorised organism.

ESA Photovoltaicis Audits is certified to conduct process audits as follows:

PRIOR STUDY OF
INSTALLATION

- Theoretical analysis of cost-effectiveness Vs actual results (installation production data comparison with area radiation data).

- Design verification of installation.


FIELD WORK

- Thoroughly revision of installation (connection diagram, wiring, inverters, monitoring system, main distribution box, registered data log and alarms, and so on.).

- Evaluate installations thermal modules to detect hotspots.

- Evaluate module cost-effectiveness by measuring I-V curve with a Curve tracer.

- Field measurement of power generator.

- Field measurement of voltage and current, DC.

- Field measurement of voltage and current, AC.

- Field measurement of earth fault on the cable.


REPORTS

- Data analysis and measures taken.

- Preparation of a summing-up report, together with, where applicable, improvement proposals to make the most of installation cost-effectiveness.
